Chattancourt Trench
The Chattancourt Trench
Located on the Verdun battlefield, the Chattancourt Trench is a truly unique site.
Reconstructed at the point where the Toulouse and Chattancourt trenches met in 1916, this site allows visitors to step into the shoes of a French soldier.
Every part of the trench has been meticulously recreated using instruction manuals, period photographs and soldiers’ accounts.
Throughout the tour, visitors can imagine themselves in the past thanks to the numerous explanations and exhibits on display. No less than 100 metres of trenches and shelters have been fully reconstructed. An engaging experience for both adults and children, offering an insight into trench warfare.
